Life of s/s anchor chain

I wonder what people learn about your chain unless you tell us at the outset, not later when you realise your parsimony with details.

Put it another way. I mentioned I had stainless. You jumped to the conclusion without any basis that it was unknown, probably rubbish. Why you’d think that when I have an 80k boat with 15k worth of sails I have no idea. Yes, my sails are quite new and well looked after thank you.

It was a thread about stainless. Surely its not too much to ask anyone who wants to contribute to give some details, which you seemed to think relevant - as you provided a link later, after I lost communication.

Nefarious chain - in your first of 2 identical posts you were hardly forthcoming about the details of your chain (in the first post), as if you had no idea of its origins, You seemed overly sensitive of your chain's winter location as if you doubted its ability to withstand usage. Most stainless I see on yachts or MoBos is in the chain locker 365 - or being used.

What exactly have YOUR sails got to do with stainless chain? I mentioned the fact people accept items have finite life (like sails) but expect their anchor chain, protected by an 80 micron coating to last forever. If you thought I was referring to you - Maybe you are being overly sensitive as I suspect most people on the PBO forum have a mainsail, galvanised anchor chain and some often complain about chain life, but not about the life of their mainsail. I don't think the value of the yacht bears any relationship to sail nor chain life.

No offence intended.

I've now had time too read your two posts, the original to which I replied and the second, identical post with the link to your supplier. I suspect you added the link because I said your chain was nefarious.

I apologise - you did define your chain and it came from an unquestionably a serious and highly reputable supplier. Why, of why did you not post the details from the outset?

If anyone wants to buy stainless chain Chiara's Slave has the link, though I'd prefer, with a bigger wallet, G60 from Germany (as I could then down size the link).
