Life begins at 40 (or does it)

I have had more fun since I was 40, than before,
Happy Birthday, stop thinking about growing old and get on with life

Re: Words of encouragement

Wouldn't worry about that, had a friend married a woman 20 years younger than him when he was 45, didn't seem to make him younger, in fact seem to age him about 20 years/forums/images/icons/smile.gif
Hair doesn't necessarily fall out, mines gone grey, mind you that started when I had kids/forums/images/icons/frown.gif
And occassionally you may still feel like an 18 year old, just won't be able to catch one now/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I am now on my last day of 30 something and am about to set off for Anglesey, site visit not pleasure unfortunately. I will log on later for more words of encouragement.

Spare a thought for those of even more advanced age than yourself. I'll be 46 on Saturday. That means I'll now be "late forties" instead of "early forties", which is as good as saying nearly fifty.

Last evening was press-ganged into being on a tug-of-war team the island put up against one from 30th Signals regiment who were on there annual visit. We beat them 2 straight. I felt really good about that until this morning when I looked at the photos and realised the fat old bugger at the back was me!

Enjoy 40, it's not so bad really.

Bill.

getting older.. and wiser..

My dad used to say that getting older means that it will take all night to achieve little of what you used to be doing all night long.....

Still haven't figured it out completely...must be due to the fact I'm only 35......

I used to hate weddings . All the old dears would poke me and say"you're next"

They soon stooped that , When I began doing the same to them at funerals....../forums/images/icons/wink.gif

I'm over 60 and can honestly say that I don't feel much different from when I was 40, except in a positive sense, in particular I have very little stress in retirement, after doing a pretty demanding job for many years and my asthma, as a result of newer drugs, is far better controlled than 20 yr ago. I realise I'm not as fit as I was when I'm bicycling with 20-30 year-olds at speed, but I can still ride much further than many of them can/or will. After 40 have annual health checks and keep fit!!

Life has been awful since I was 40 - 2 years ago.
I've been made redundant twice.

Still things are looking up now - I've got a new job, living on the boat during the week and got the house on the market - <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.vebra.com/home/includes/vdetails.asp?src=agent&fd=520&bd=0&db=1&cl=1315&pid=8936620>http://www.vebra.com/home/includes/vdetails.asp?src=agent&fd=520&bd=0&db=1&cl=1315&pid=8936620</A>

Can't wait to move
