I need a 6 man in valise and am considering a Seago which is available at £649 inc VAT new. However, I'm concerned that it's cheaper than competition and therefore may not be as safe. Anyone any experience on this?

I have purchased a 4 man seago valise and it seems to be well made. I suppose with the cruising we do we are unlikely to be adrift for 30 days !!

bit difficult this one. If the liferaft was utter rubbish then the true test wd have no survivors if rubbish, or survivors if not. imho, any liferaft is better than none. But most boats are a better thing to sit on than most any liferaft. If you are unsure about a liferaft, imho a second liferaft wd be a good idea, rather than one really posh liferaft. That way having totally cocked up the release of the first one, you could do a better job with the second. Also, the total nerk who caused the fire/crash could stay in the other one to minimise post-sinking recriminiations which are just bound to be a factor, no?

Not sure that too many peeps sit in a liferaft and say "well, this is fairly decent innit! - nice comfy seats AND a rather excellent selection of top choccy! yess indeed i am most pleased we chose the spensive liferaft which i must say is a good deal beter than than pòxy boat we used to have, and if i had known it was this good i wd defrinitely have scurttled the thing three years ago. " So, it wil probly be okay to have the cheap one, imho.

You may console yourself with the knowledge that Seago give much lower discounts to dealers than some others, with the result that (A) there is almost no further discounting so the prices are pretty even, and (B) the ticket price Seago themselves can advertise is significantly better than the competition, hence your mail.
