Well, today I went to my nearest Lidl, in Milton Keynes, to confirm that they are doing the sailing stuff on Thursday. They are, which surprised me being so far inland.

Anyway, how many of you will I be doing battle with for the cheap gear at 08;01 on Thursday? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Rope at that price! Course I will! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

They have it here in Sutton Coldfield, Bham, so far inland I think i'll be the only one! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Note that some stores have a greater range than others - Plymstock carrying many items not available in this neck of the ?.

They may not have everything but did a store stock check and they are definitely stocking the majority of stuff incl. rope so fingers crossed, never enough on the boat when needed, always tied round the fenders or something /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yup,

Will be camping outside the Porthmadog store from 2100 hrs tomorrow evening ready to grab meself a couple of fenders, a boat hook and some rope.

And just so we have an understanding....no kicking, spitting, biting, gauging or punching below the belt...after that, anything goes, let's have a nice clean fight and may the best (non gender specific) person win!

Lidl, most of what you get there is total shite.

I used their masking tape, maybe OK with emulsion, but yacht paint did something orible to it. It was harder to get off than the paint would have been.

All the plants I got there have died, the Feta cheese turned out to be made with cows milk, I poured the wine down the sink, I could go on.

Oh but, the chocolate IS good. mind you ANY European chocolate is better than the brown fat that Cadbury's sell

No you wont, not now!! ill be the bloke behind you with the battered coat and antifoul stains on his trousers. (no not the big issue seller)

Aldi do a brilliant plasticised masking tape which is so easy to use. Goes on in a one-er /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif and comes off no problem. I have used it two years running when anti-fouling and it is in a class of its own.

Not crap. Not Musto HPX, but deffo not crap. SWMBO has the Jacket (no torusers to fit her), and she didnt get wet when the weather did get wet. Story is the original batch were from Chay Blythes little adventure.....

Olive oil
Balsamic vinegar (ooh, 'ark at 'im)
Occasionally, Chilean Merlot.
Pizzas at 3 for £1.83
