Lewmar horizon 900

Hi,

I have a lewmar horizon 900 mounted aft on my boat. It does not have a "freefall" function. Can I rebuild the winch so that it has a freefall function?

You do have a manual free-fall function, you should have a clutch nut tool (or you can use a socket set if you can't find it). You need to back off the nut on the outside of the chain gypsy, this will allow the gypsy-wheel to spin freely and pay out chain without engaging the motor.

If you mean an "auto freefall" function, where the windlass controls automatically slacken and re-tighten the nut, then no, you would need a newer Pro-Fish model for that.
