Somehow an insurance broker has got hold of my details despite me saying I wasn't interested in a quote and they are now touting for my business. This is the draft reply to them. Do any of you have any suggestions for the final response?

Feel free to quote, but you're up against a UK based insurer who I use for my other boat. I've been with them for 6 years now, with one claim back in 2002 when my boat decided to break its mooring line in an F8 and go walk-about.
Please note that I sail single-handed predominantly and this seems to give insurers the jitters for some reason. The only sailing qualifications I have are a DSC VHF licence and a QBE, which for some reason, insures won't take into consideration or recognise. I have over 10 000 single-handed miles including a transatlantic. The boat will never be raced and will spend most of its time at anchor. Hurricane season merely raises my eyebrow because I never venture more than 3 days from the edge of the hurricane belt.
You may recall that I wasn't interested in talking to you about insurance when I was at the boat show. With the brief info above, you will now probably understand why; if not, it is because insurance has a nasty draining effect on my cruising kitty and to date, the only claim I have made, cost the insurer less than 6 years of premiums. On the other hand, should your premium be affordable, I will be pleasantly surprised and will seriously consider a change of insurers.
Hope this helps
Regards
John
