Re: The Manchester United Defence

I don't think anyone was disagreeign with either the fact that valuable contributers are being lost or that that will have a significantly detrimental impact on the forums as a whole.
I think Paul was suggesting that your post on this thread is unlikely to help; and in that I wouldl have to agree.
However you seem to be of the view that there is now, from the experience of the last few months, only one course of action that will ultimately reverse this process, and again I would, sadly, tend to agree.
I say sadly because any forum should be capable of being enriched by the experiences of all it's contributors; especially those active in the subject under discussion.
Unfortunately we live in an intolerant urgent society and constantly repeating points or 'pushing' an opinion eventually take their toll on everyone regardless of whether the v iews expressed are in fact valid eg. anchoring, the rights of liveaboards, dingy's in narrow channels, jetskis, paper charts are the only real navigation et al.

In conclusion I understand and accept your premise - but am saddened that we have got here.

Lesson learnt and might help others as the winter comes is; When taking down the covers of you boat ,if it is very cold or frozen , they will come off ok BUT if folded and put away in lockers that are cold too, I can tell you that the normal 10min to put covers on will take you an hour and a few choise word, So it is worth storing them near some heat or letting the sun warm them before puting them on again.
