Hi I replaced my Windlass on BEN 411 (Y2000) a couple of years ago and have now just managed to get it apart to recover the Motor Gearbox assembly and drive shaft - Nothing else is recoverable but the Motor / Gearbox works just fine. (ONE St St stud requires removal) but all other fittings are sound.

I do appreciate that these are OLD and No Spares available etc etc - ive searched, but given the number of Boats made with these units fitted - one never knows what might be useful to someone.

Any interest here from - most likely BEN411, BEN40, or Jeanneau 40 ish. - before I post on a commercial site ? pictures for info.IMG_3872.JPEGIMG_3873.JPEGIMG_3874.JPEGIMG_3875.JPEGIMG_3880.JPEGIMG_3882.JPEGIMG_3884.JPEG

PM if interested - and we can discuss the value etc etc

I spent many happy hours last winter struggling with ours!

Once I had managed to get the drum off the output shaft, the rest of it came apart quite easily. It was then mainly a question of getting all the corrosion off the various parts.

On reassembling, to my surprise, it worked OK again.

Do you want a spare Motor / Gearbox ?😀

I have a fully working horizontal LS windlass assembly off a bene 40 cc less a motor after mine burnt to a crisp.

I have tried to give it away for 2 years but no one wants to pay for collection from N Wales.

To be honest it would be a liability even if repaired as spares are just unobtainable.

A Lofrans Tigres was a direct replacement with world wide availability of spares and replacement gypsies.

I suspect it will end up in the marina scrap bin rather than use it as a door stop for our storage unit.
