Re: Look forward to the finished photos NM.

yes, I wonder why they (and many others) don't get somebody - anybody- to rewrite or lightly adjust their brochures. There are some fab (hopeless) translations around, this not bad , but one far eastern product advertising how their product was ahead of the game bragged that "our new XYZ will have our competition swimming in their own sweat!" urgh

Re: caks, party, drift

There will indeed be a launch party lasting most of next year as far as I know. Fish paste a maybe, but definitely potted meat, banana sanwiches with sugar sprinkled on, and small blokey male-type cakes without girlie hudreds and thousands sprinkled on, and hence not in the least bit "fairy", correctly identified by Byron as "caks".

Re: steering wheel

you got me wurrid bout the wheel. oa width is 5.3 that width mebbe 4m , wheel dia 440 ish I reckon. Other have it painted, but I sed nah chrome it like a bayliner er searay erm Ferrari.

Also the seat has a "back side arm rest"? I have no idea what this is. Have you been impersonating me, ringing them up and asking for things? " er Matt here - all fine but I'll need an armrest for my backside...." hmm.

Re: steering wheel

Wouldn't worry about wheel dia - looks same as Mangusta and that felt OK at Ft Ladedah (stationary). However, yours looks a bit close to that stbd side box or whatever it is. Or is that the arm rest?

Re: Look forward to the finished photos

I had to laugh when I read the text "Day Cruiser", hell that makes it the same as mine! - I think not.

I am now truely jealous, can't you get your skipper to pop it over to the UK for a few weeks next year, love to experience such a boat.

On their site, it says this about the blokes who built your boat ...
"It is mainly why its craftmen produce only a very limited number of ships, and call on very few subcontractors, since they even make their own tools. "
Good trick if you can do it !

yeah I don't get that. How did they make a drill then? Or a hacksaw?

Or maybe it's an oblique reference to that old joke about the leopard who bit off the elephants willy, and then expalined he was a "tool eater jaguar" but it got lost in the translation??
