Sunsail has a 2017 Leopard 43PC named Kolya for sale in Greece. Asking price is €425,000. Unusually, in the current climate, this boat is on sale for a few months now - Sunsail power cat offerings in Europe have generally been sold very fast for the last couple of years at least. So I'm curious why has this boat not sold.
I'm on the lookout for a good power cat around that vintage but, if I'm going to pay that sort of money, I'd want a 3 cabin Owner's version and Kolya has a 4 cabin layout.

Maybe other potential buyers have the same idea. But good for a charter yacht.......bums on seats etc.

I note the owners suite takes up one hull - the other cabins must be quite poky and share one shower (which seems parsimonious) but not a deal breaker.

I take your point but they had another 4 cabin 43pc in Croatia which went on the market around the same time at the same price but it went sale agreed very quickly. Kolya is in Corfu. Maybe someone on here knows it?

During the pandemic, or earlier in the pandemic, yachts (here, Oz) went for good, (daft?) prices and quickly - people were tired, quickly, of being locked up and getting on a boat meant social distancing went out the window.

Those heady days are over here, we can all travel to anywhere we want (though some air fares are daft) the novelty of a yacht might have worn off.

I don't know, yachts bought in haste not the panacea required, today, more yachts for sale (because the novelty wore off quickly, there are now other leisure options).

Inflation has made the mortgage something of a dampener and another major outlay not quite so easy to stomach.

Or as you might be asking - there is something wrong with the yacht in question.

We went round the factory - I was impressed and liked the sail versions, apart from the forward cockpit, but they did not cater for individual personalisation - so we did not progress. If you are spending big money you (or we) wanted to add things, that we did add on our Ligthwave.

Several years ago I delivered a Leopard 40 (sail) from Croatia to St Lucia for Sunsail. In fact there was a fleet of us comprising 3 x Sun Odysseys and 2 x Leopard 40’s as I recall. i met up with the second Leopard 40 at a pit stop in Gibraltar and both of us were encountering identical problem owing to poor build quality. By the time I reached the destination I had a Spanish windlass type arrangement from port to starboard across the top of the fixed fibreglass Bimini to prevent it from becoming detached from it’s supports, the main sheet tackle was attached to the Bimini so it would have been a double disaster if it had gone walkabout. Plenty of other problems too including the “patio doors” coming adrift.

I wrote up my about my experiences on these forums when Matt (TCM) was first looking for a catamaran. All probably fine for a boat already positioned in a sunny charter base but not built for rigours of ocean cruising imo.

Thanks for the insight. I would have thought any boat favoured by charter companies would be relatively problem free. Clearly not your experience with Leopards.

Last year I put in an offer, subject to survey, on an ex-charter Leopard 44. The survey brought to light extensive water stains in the galley counter tops and rust on the I-beam. Sunsail then acknowledged the leaks in the hatches and claimed to have repaired them. Yeh, right! Next.....

Interesting. Do you mind me asking if you think they were aware of these defects? Did they offer to do something about them or offer a discount?

They said they'd fixed the leaking hatches ages ago, but who actually knows? No discount was offered, probably because at that time (circa March 2021), it was very much a buyer's market. Within a week of me pulling out, that boat was marked as "Under offer" again.
