Length of string question - annual running costs

As I share my boat with my brother we keep very accurate records. On my previous boat, owned for 10 years, a bit smaller than the Conway the total cost were £70k including all mooring, upgrades. repairs maintenance etc, but not including fuel. This therefore includes circa £30k in mooring costs and the cost of buying the boat and the proceeds from selling, which was a net £3k profit which gives some indication of the amount of work put in to upgrade etc. Most of the work was done my ourselves but obviously not new upholstery and headlining and rubbing strakes and windows, which between them accounted for £10-12k of that figure. I could have spent less, but if i had it would have been more difficult to sell, as it was the 3rd person to saw it bought it.
My current old boat ( but newer than a Conway !) will end up costing more.
Of course you can do it cheaper, but you can see the benefit of sharing the costs with someone!

I can easily budget to maintain Tzu on 10% of her purchase price per year.

I've had her for 5 years and have now started spending the budget for the year 2032
