Leisure 17 wanted

£3k is too much for a Leisure 17.
With trailers and outboards they are in the £1200 to £2000 max bracket.
If you are paying more it's just for theowners polishing and fancy bits.

Do make sure you get a decent set of sails with whatever you buy as you could be looking at £800, at least, to replace them.

An old Leisure 17 can be had for this price, but all the 17 SL's i've seen are around the 3k mark

(although the original post didnt specify an SL, am just saying :) )
 
How do L 17's handle being out in the solent? they look like lovely fun little boats, but I worry it's only 12 inches longer than a Wayfarer..

I believe the Leisure 17 is one of the best boats of its size. I beleive they have crossed the Atlantic.

I'll tell you after the 17th! :eek: :D

Wayfarer weight = 200kg

L17 weight = 670kg (of which ballast is 250kg)

Nice boat!

After reading this thread, I've managed to go out and buy 2x Leisure 17's!!

An old Do'er upper, and a newer SL!

I must be mad..
