yes its new and ive just found another one for £58
I've had one for the past year. It was fitted by an electrician as part of an insurance claim. The combined version requires a three way switch.
I haven't needed to use it at night but it's the only tricolour light that I've had that can be seen lit in sunshine. They are bright.
Yes LEd is certainly the way to go. However depending on your sailing style and places yopu might sail at night, deck level nav lights might be a safer option. A mast top nav light might be seen better from a large ship but for traffic in a confined area with smaller boats another skipper will always be looking at water level for boats while a mast top light might be lost in street lights etc. So I do races at night on the Swan River a wide estuary but mostly surrounded by suburbia. I am convinced that deck level nav lights are far more quickly spotted than mast top nav lights. Must not be shaded by genoa of course. Lights mounted on the cabin side are far easier for repairs and maintenance. good luck olewill
Tricolour failed 3 times each time I replaced several of the leds.

Build your own? Can't be that hard to find out which LEDs meet the colour requirements.....My Bebi lights are clearly visible in daylight as well - but there's no point recommending them any more as the Tongan government has driven them out of business

Is it easy to open the case?
