Does anybody know how to make or where to purchase navigation lights that use LED to save power, I have my mast down at the moment and it would be a good time to convert my nav lights and anchor light to LED

I doubt if there are LED nav lights made as LED,s especially red ones suffer from loss of light output with age. (quite a lot of light output ) actually so I doubt if there are any approved for nav light use. Perhaps in the future they may build sensors into the electronics to monitor the light output and adjust the current accordingly. But as far as I know, none are yet available. As I am sure you are aware nav lights have to meet certain specifications and it may be foolhardy to fit the led lamps that are available for use as internal type lighting fixtures. regards

Hi Thanks for that what I am looking for are all round white for masthead nav lights and anchr lights I have found a site which actually sell the already made to fit straight into the standard fitting they are not cheap but then the original ones are several £ They consist of the bulb fitting and 9 LED positioned in such a way to give the correct all round light the lenses do the rest as they do in standard form. I have ordered two so will see how they preform.
