well guys ive just done the day skipper course and my wife did the comp crew part,we did not fancy the cold UK so we headed off to La Gomera and canarysail,we had a great time and learned a lot from a friendly bunch.

By around the second day,my wife was offered to "trade up to day skipper" but she declined as she had not done any theory. The instructor was most impressed by my wife infact on the last evening,he asked her if she was an inspector from the RYA /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif checking out their standards. My wifes sum total of sailing to date is one course and four days with me on a friends boat, so is my captaincy of our vessel under threat?

much to my delight my wife loved the trip, she enjoyed the heavier winds the best,at the time i was secretly hoping that they would not put her off, anyhow this weekends plans have been prosponed due to the weather /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif i was planning to motor down the welland and out over the wash and into wells

so its buffing the hull for me and horsey competitions for the girls

I think it just goes to show how excellent you have been on your earlier outings, giving her confidence to move on. How many of us here wish we had a sailing mate like that.

Well done - keep ahead of the game!

Excellent news re the course, good to hear she enjoyed it.
Also a good call for this weekend, it's not looking nice at all. Will call later to chat about arrangements for the launch.
