Hi, help needed!.....I am a complete newcomer to boating and I have just purchased a Freeman 22 Mk2, the boat seemed immaculate......BUT!......the following day I run the engine to check it...after switching the engine off I knelt down to open the engine hatch to look inside and noticed a wet patch on my knee off the carpet......I lifted the carpet to discover a wet trail running the full length from the engine compartment all the way along the cabin.

I lifted the centre plank covering the "Keelson" and noticed water seeping in the 90 degree edge of the channel...some of the keel bolts had been covered with fibreglass and painted...I then noticed the floor was "Spongy" directly above where the water was seeping in....directly below where the sink is situated......no surface water was evident around the sink or the feed and waste pipes.

If water is collecting under the floor below the sink and leaking out in the bilge Keel channel.....is this a serious problem?

As I said I am a complete newcomer to boating and I have no idea what the implications are....or how to stop and repair this leak

Any help or advice is very much welcomed.

Thanks

Andy:(
