According to Google Earth Ipswich to Burnham is 48.4 miles and will take you 1h 12 mins by car

And maybe a change of date too.

I don't know if it's just sheer bad luck or whether you all are trying to tell me something, but ECF get togethers always seem to take place either a WE I'm working or in a 'shallow puddle surrounded by mud' type venue where we can't get to by boat.
It would be nice to make it to at least one ECF get together before we leave these shores for blue(er) water.

If you choose the concrete ,.. you have to put up with the grumpy Brenda behind the bar. She smiles for her friends and is very short with everyone else. The bar will close during the meal and the place will be like a morgue by the end..


However the food is very good

If you haven't got anything nice to say, then keep it to yourself. I would be grateful if you would put your name down if you are coming or stay out if you are not.
By the way, I always found the RCYC staff to be very courteous and accommodating when I was a member

When I said the food is very good I forgot to also say the setting is second to none in the world.. Watching the sunset down the river is unbeleivable...

David - the manufacturer (a cottage industry) is going to send me the flags in 'batches' and we are set up to send out the flags out as soon as they are delivered to individual members so I am expecting/hoping that we will have sent quite a few out by the time of the Supper. Added to that at the moment I am expecting to be coming back that day from Nigeria and probably unable to make the Supper. I shall be leaving the envelopes all addressed and stamped so SWMBO can post out any that arrive during my short trip to Nigeria.

If weather kind I will be there (with possibly another forumite tbc). If autumnal storm turns up, I will probably stay at Ipswich.
