Firstly a huge thanks to everyone who came along.... what a teriffic night!

Excellent grub from the Swallowtail, even if they did serve the starters up 15mins early, and apologies to those arriving as the food was plonked on the tables!

As for the cotton reel tanks.... well... what can I say.... some stupendous efforts.... the distance covered by the Kioni machine was truly remarkable.... and special notice was taken of the Solene machine.... some 12" in diameter, and equipped with Harken bearings!!!!!!!!!!

Great fun with the 'awards' and thank you to everyone for taking them in the spirit intended.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening, with excellent company, and as ever, hugely entertaining conversation.

Finally, a very very special thanks to Jim for organising the whole evening, and in particular for sorting out the complicated tally of contributions at the end of the evening....

Looking forward to Laying down 2010 :)

Edit: Pics to follow when I get them downloaded

Looking forward to next year already :)

Just enjoyed a great evening as new members of the East Coast Forum who held there laying up supper held at Burnham Swallowtail.
As Motor boaters we were a bit apprehensive as the Forum is made up of mainly yachties, but that was soon put to one side, we were made to feel really welcome from the off, every effort was made to make it a great evening, even down to some rather unusual pressies for certain members, the wife included, she has a new name now ‘’Mrs. Bling’’ and acquired a glow in the dark necklace great. Nice to see children being invited as boating is a family experience
Well done Full Circle and Morgana for organizing it (there forum names are there boat names which I think is a good idea)
Look forward to meeting you all next year.
After reading a lot of negative comments from previous post about Yachties and MBOS it is nice to see that with a little effort we can get along.

Well looks like another excellent ECF get together we are both sorry to have missed it.

Hopefully catch up with friends old and new in december when we return.

CPD

Thats the first pic i have seen where you look sober, that must have been very early, someone must have a more normal looking pic of CPD

great pics,

You see thats the problem with you lot - you can't even recognise a perfectly executed impression of a sober flower pot man even when it's on the end of your nose.

We're back

Hi everyone

What a great day to come back! Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain, all day, but not too bad! Not many people about, safely back into the Deben, despite some surfing and big waves on the way in! What a fabulous long weekend, started Thursday night on board on the Deben, with pizza and wine. Left the Deben Friday early, with sausage cobs as we set sail. Great sail down to Burnham. What a great stay! We enjoyed a good curry out on Friday night. It was brilliant to see everyone on Saturday. We enjoyed the party on Jim's boat and welcomed Doug and Grahame onto Sea Mist II. They were most welcome boat guests. Superb night out at the Swallow Tail, many thanks to Jim. Thanks also to Neil, who gave us some great prize giving speeches!

Great day Sunday, plenty of sun and rest/relaxation after the night's excesses!!!!

We're here on the Deben, drying out, but have just had a sweet and sour chicken with rice dish, cooked by SWMBO. She's an excellent cook, I'm so lucky to have her as a wife.

Peg survived the trip, attached to the peak of my Tilly hat. Measured rain fall by number of drips per minute!!!

Many thanks again.

What more can you say .....

:D

All you have to do is get a camera near Alan .. We are still laughing .. Hope to see many more .. :D

glad you got a sail .. Ours was a bit of motor . bit of sail .. etc ..

I'm having a hard time uploading images - keeps timing out with "security token missing", then says if this happens unexpectedly follow this link and notify an administrator, so I follow the link and type in my problem in considerable detail and then it says my post is not valid and throws it all away - another triumph for the customer experience process <grrr>

I have a bunch of pics and some movies of the tank competition and I can't upload them!!!

And by the way - a great evening everyone, thank you very much for making it such a great time and well worth the trip. Despite my sons playing the parts of The Reluctant Youth and The Recalcitrant Youth respectively they said they really enjoyed the weekend and the dinner and can't wait for pirate weekend next year. Mrs Kioni may have enjoyed herself too but I can't tell as she isn't talking to me at the moment (I don't know why she isn't talking to me 'cos she won't tell me) but I think she did.

Neil
