No, we went straight into Suva having carefully read all the information on Noonsite, and having emailed our form CV ??? from vava'u in Tonga first. No one else in our ( loose) group of cruisers dared to flout the strict clearance, customs, health, bio security etc etc conditions. We all obtained the necessary cruising permits, purchased our gifts of cava for Sevusevu, took enough cash for anchoring charges, thus respecting both officialdom and local courtesy. I heard enough tales about the bureaucracy to strongly advise that you do the same.
