Latin Question

Dexter means "right" - not sure how they used in in a maritime connection - "starboard" is more complex than "right" since it also implies that the point of reference is facing forwards.
 
Whatever the truth, I am still trying to recover from someone putting starboard into Greek script in answer to a question about Latin...

you probably missed the "classical education" smiley ?

btw in many southern europe high schools we have (had at my time) 8 years of study in Latin and 5 in classical Greek, I reckon after scrotum scroti Morse would have been more understandable/appropriate ? :rolleyes:
