We slag it often enough so I thought it worth saying that this month's YM is darned good (even if it did arrive without the Ipswich insert, but then who wants to sail across mudbanks anyway?) Messy cover but really useful stuff for the South Coast cruising type like me and some good adventures. Tom C''s story of battling up the coast of Portugal struck me as simply great cruising writing. What think?

Re: Latest Y W

Latest YW is good this month (June) too. Don't usually like it as much as the others, although I always buy it. Seems to have some sort of new look.........much better. Speaking as a pro, very good production and photography.

Can I become a contributor now during my trip??

Rather a sad insular little life you must lead Pugwash!! If your sole interest in the magazine is your own backyard, then maybe subscribing to your local Parish Magazine would be of more interest?? Still I suppose that if a magazine has lots of "useful South Coast cruising stuff" in it then we should ALL be eternally gratefull!!

I make no apology for sailing on the East Coast and find your comment rather short sighted when one considers the variety of sailing that is experienced in any one 24 hour period. From finding a safe passage through a little used swatchway, to sailing up almost deserted creeks and out into the Thames Estuary, over a wide open stretch of water...we call it the North Sea and you are in Belgium or Holland. Yes, it is challenging, but it is fun, and don't knock it until you have tried it...see Niges post earlier.

Thanks for the "sad insular " tip old boy. Funny how some folk can make a silk purse out of a sand-bank and a mountain out of a mud-flat.
