Last outing

Re: heroics?????

Byron, the poor bugger, sounds like his starving, you cook and I'll clean up the mess he leaves. On a lighter note, I do a mean full english. Best cure for the morning after the night before that I've found.

Brendan, Leave the car at lymington, 'ave a pint and get over to northney. Prob solved. God I'm good at times, I even surprise myself.

best cure.......

funny I have found that not stopping is a significantly better cure.........
or pacing yourself.........
better still both!

btw we seem to have a Newton Creek spring trip on the cards but for the summer I am seriously thinking of South Brittany - Morbihan or ........ferry to st marlo and quite a short trail/ tents etc for the other end. Anyone done this sort of trip to that specific area?

Re: Agenda

Trouble is Geoff, with that sideways camara jobbie of yours, you sneek up on people when their not expecting it !!<G>

Re: best cure.......

The Newton creek thingy should be a brezze to organize, just mention beer and everyone pipe's up "me, I'll be there", but the south brittany trip will take quiet a lot of umming and arring with loads of head scratching thrown in for good measure. It'll have to be organised round time of the dreaded work. I'm ok, selfemployed so bugger off when I feel like it, but wife has to book next years hols by the end of November. I would have thought its the same for other salaried people. Thats gonna be the biggest hurdle, then you've got the towing bit, all being able to get there within a couple of days of each other and the camping and mooring as well. We need someone with a bit of local info and maybe a local contact or two.

Food for thought though, would be a good bash if we could pull it off.

Re: Agenda

Congrats on the agenda! Sounds good and I expect to be coming with boat. Probably launch at Rockley and trying to persuade wifey to help with launch and buy me a beer in Swanage.

Can't stay the night because kids are going to see Santa Clause (in Lapland) and will be returning late that evening. I suppose we could pick them up from Hurn on the way back but they will have probably seen enough of jolly fat men that day.

Re: Agenda

I'll have to come down on the friday. So I'll have to book in for the friday as well. I'll never make it to Wareham, launch and be at poole quay by 11.00. Might stay in the Black bear friday and look for place in Poole the sat. Must leave by lunch time'ish on the sunday though. Been told "You cannot sleep on the boat", she don't trust me when I've had a drink!

Re: heroics?????

Oh! OK, I'll drive to Lymington, have a beer there, get a taxi to Chichester, stay on the boat overnight (not forgetting to invite Byron for cold spam) and then take boat back to Lymington next day
Only problem with that is I don't get to Poole?

Are we going for a 400 thread with this one??

Re: heroics?????

Na Na Na, throw a sickie on the friday, blatt down to lymington, leave the car there friday morn, beer in the pub, jump on the train/bus/cab/hitch to chichester. Head down and big zed's friday night, up bright and early, blatt along the coast to Poole. Hey presto, prob solved again. Or maybe the Hob Goblin's gone to my head now that the six bottles are empty, everything seems so easy!

Re: heroics?????

Better...you take sickie on Friday. Collect boat for me and deliver to Lymington. That way if it sinks on shakedown I don't get wet. Can't take any Hob Goblins with you tho', seem to have enough of those on boat anyway!

If you get back alive, I'll pay you with crate of hob gobls

Re: Agenda

Sounds good to me.....

OK I'll be bringing the whole family down - arive Sat morning - leave Sunday morning. Thats SWMBO, Sabrina 13, Alex 10, Hannah 6 and Oliver 4 and stay in a hotel overnight. Are any other kids coming and if so how old. ????

So Sat night depends on where and if kids are suitable ????

Sadly no boat - too far to tow for one night.

Re: Agenda

Kids is OK. Mine won't be coming this time, but the eaty thing will be Ok for kids. Last time we had a brace of 'em running about all over the boats. They were as good as gold. Might be worth bringing lifjackets for them tho. You never know if the weathers OK the cruise to swanage or where ever will be on the agenda. I'll bring some kids LJ's as well.

Re: Agenda

Sorry people, I don't think the boat will be making this one. The heads gotta come off to have that stud thing doing in the engineers shop. I'm well gutted and am losing interest in boating rather quickly. I'm now off to sulk or maybe go and throw a tantrum cos I can't play with my toys!

Re: Agenda

Mmm, no reply, but then he seems to have been pretty quiet latley, or are we just behaving ourselves. Going to make a sdetermined effort to get the boat up and running but the day light is against me.

That'a sad new, Barry. Still you can come anyway, can't you.?You'll still be able to drink, I'm sure.

Or is this a get out, 'cause you've been instructed to go to the other function, whatever that was?

Re: Agenda

I'm booked into the Travel Inn as well see you there. My daughter, Laurel, will be with me, she's 13.

Don't get brekky in a Travel Inn, of course, but I use an excellent greasy spoon, I've mentioned many times before, the Old Corn Store in the High Street, just off Poole Quay.

Oh Geof, I'm feeling bad enough already, we are still putting the Fletch 22 to bed for the winter and I haven't got the dog hairs out yet! Roll on Feb or March???

Feel guilty about putting this post up, 'cause it wasn't my last outing. I was out yesterday as well. It's this mob persuading me to keep to boat going until mid December, well BarryH actually - then he says he ain't coming.

Saw your boat looking all lonely, come along and join in the fun on 14th & 15th Dec. This bunch ain't as ugly as they seem, all quite tame really, well except for Duncan /forums/images/icons/smile.gif.
