After all the festive fun we decided to go out for the last run of the year. So after scraping the ice off the car and leaving half the family behind (too cold for the boaty thing) we set off.
The next to worst part is the prep, getting all the covers off, but you get it done
Then after a little ice breaking to get out of the berth
We headed off out of the marina. Maryport has had a couple of recent editions including this very nice cat that has been in Poole from the window sticker, she sits on the hammerhead making the gap to the wall a bit tight in a cross wind
Like Conway, we are still without a gate on the marina entrance, and there were only two boats out and you have to meet them at the narrowest part of the marina – its the law
Wait patiently and then head out to the outer harbour
The light is modelled on a mk1 mini headlight, so it looks good but that is about all you can say – it makes a better visible reference point during the day as most lights in the town are brighter at night
Unless you can photo it like this, then it just looks good
Then off to sea.
Heading out into the Solway, the hardy ones were on top
It might have been cold but why would you not go out on a day like this, everyone was smiling
No1 son managed to get a shot that looked like the boat was flooded
Heading home after a couple of hours
All tied up back at the marina, waiting for next outing, which will be in 2009
Happy new year everyone
