Rumour has it that the Jolly Sailor at Bursledon is going to be 'done up' and turned into a gastropub. As it's one of the last of the 'drink till you fall over' pubs on the Hampshire shore this would be a jolly shame. So, get 'em in before it's too late.

PS - good place to be on the night before a Round the Island race. The sight of the 'serious' owners trying to prevent their crew involving themselves in too much self destruction is amusing.

Lets face it Ken, its a foodie pub already, and poor food at that, the changes have been put on hold by the owners of the pub Hall and Woodhouse due to local pressure, but, having been at the planning meeting I honestly cant see what the propblem was in any case, it only created 7 more seats and moved the bar, the most of it effected the kitchen although the whole line of micro waves were planned to stay.....

I got lambasted in Alladins cave in about January for refusing to sign the petition.

But much of the food on the menu at the moment does go down well with the odd pint or three (salads excepted). Not like a Persian Lamb with Apricots, Duck and Ginger Navarin, or whatever other delights the corporate catering insultant comes up with.
