I have been using Seapro 2000 standard for quite a few years.
It cost over £600 to buy at the time.
I originally used it as an on board chartplotter on Charter boats.

I now have a SH CP300 on the boat and only use Seapro as a planing system at home.
Up till this year I have been able to update the tide data from the Euronav website.
This year they have see fit to insist that I upgrade to their latest system at a cost of £120.00.
While I find the system very useful, I can't justify spending that much on a pre-planing system.

Can anyone recommend some charting software that will do tidal planing at a sensible price?

I believe that the latest release (ie 2010) Imray Digital Chartplotter with the Meridian Tides add on now has tide planning capability.

I have a 2008 version Channel area with 09 tides update and recent em from Imray re the new software release indicates as much. Cost with the tides add on for one sea area (quite large- eg mine is both sides of Channel, Brest/Raz de Sein to Felixstowe/Dunkirk) should be £59.95. Released this month, but not yet purchaased, so no first hand expeprienc eof the the new software, but I think my current one itself was pretty good value, considering it had in built AIS capability.

Clive,

I also have Seapro2000 and the tidal data update for 2010 will work OK with it regardless of what it says on the website.

Download the .exe file from the Euronav site and run the file. It seems to want to place the new tidal file in a new folder so you will probably have to manually move the file to the "Tidal Data" folder and then update the tidal info properties within the Seapro program to tell it to search the new file for 2010 tidal data.

If you need any more help just send me a PM.

Thank you for this.
I have just had a poke around and have found the file and got Seapro 2000 working for another year.:)
I am most grateful.
