Assuming one anchors just upstream of the entrance to Oare creek and putters in in the dinghy, where can you land to get to/from The Shipwrights and how long either side of HW have you got?

I think that you biggest problem will will be mud right outside the pub as far as access is concerned. Presumably there is space to anchor without obstructing the fairway?

Alternatively you can pick up a mooring / anchor at Harty Ferry for just about all tide access and walk round. It takes half an hour as you have to follow Oar Creek up to the end and then back again, put there are foot paths and is pleasant on a summers day.

I meant to say anchor upstream of Faversham Creek, not Oare Creek, so at Harty Ferry south side as you suggest. The walk round might be a nice option as it takes in another pub or two on the way (and on the way back, hic!). I assume that if I leave a flubber with outboard at the top of the causeway there is a reasonable chance it will still be there when I get back...

I have rowed and left my dinghy there a few times without problem. An outboard would make me more nervous. Otherwise you may be able to land on some staging belonging to the boatyard on the corner just inside Oar creek, but might be worth asking them first. Pretty sure there is a spoonful of water at LW into Oar creek, and you can probably creep up to something solid if not LW then soon after.

Wouldn't swear to it but the the best all tide spot may be in Fav Creek a few yards past the pub, the bank is steep to there. Haven't looked at it lately, little call to be there since our club moved up to Oare and we much prefer the pubs there too. Landlord of the Shipwrights gives the distinct impression that customers are a darned nuisance!

I know what you mean. That can add to the 'charm' of a place if you only visit occasionally, but if you're a regular then it's not what you want!
