Yes I know it's not a sailing question but I need local rather than national info. So does anyone know of a good indy for Land Rover service. Anywhere between Bath / Bristol, Gloucester and Cardiff.
I think they are ok, they have looked after my Freelander ok and I trust them.
If something unexpected comes up, they will phone you if there is additional major expenditure.
( Unlike a previous garage I dealt with where I turned up to collect the car and found an additional 400 quid added onto the bill that I wasn't expecting. )
They're not the cheapest around but I do think they are cheaper than the dealers. When I last used the dealer as was then, I thought the dealer was having a laugh when he quoted the cost of a service. I promptly went elsewhere.
in the same vein I have a Freelander "04" which is the V6 version and no garage I have been too has the attachment on their computer to read a current fault I have, The dealer wants £80 just to entertain me so sod them! any one got a V6 or know a garage that has the ability to read the V6.
Yeah I think one of my coil packs has given up, its mis firing constantly so I would prefer somewhere that can either come out or has a trailer to put it on, I wouldn't fancy driving it too far.
Why did they mount the V6 sideways! Can get to the front 3 no problem, the back 3 are a git!!
The best place for advice on any Land Rover is the Land Rover forums. I bought an old Discovery 3 years ago and have done all my own work on it with all the information you might need either being on record, or sorted by respnce from other owners. Also they will recommend independant garages to use. http://forum.landrovernet.com/forum.php
