I am considering a contract position in Kampala, Uganda. Has anyone got information on Lake Victoria such as yacht clubs, if any, suitability for sailing, or any info you may feel interesting. Has anyone got experience of sailing on the lake?

Do not know about yacht clubs, but you will find in the Ssese islands one of the last lost paradises of the world.

Along the coasts, lots of annoying thick waterlilies, especially near the source of the Nile, + the usual scattered banks left here and there by the wind.

watch out for the Crocks and hippos and use plenty sunblock
