Ladies only post

Congratulations that brave woman. Makes me feel ever so weedy.

But why title it 'ladies only post'? Shouldn't fellas be allowed to read about this sort o' t'ing too? Or is it a cunning ploy, in the same way as putting an open envelope in front of someone and saying to them 'Don't open this envelope' - you can betcha they will..!

Saw her interviewed on News 24 this morning, by a hopeless newscaster who obviously had no nautical knowledge whatsoever. He was trying to dramatise the incident when she was helming the lifeboat in a rescue of a fishing boat, and she consistently played the down. Funny, and somewhat embarrassing to watch. But she came over as very calm and confident. Well done to her.

I agree, why in this day and age, and especially on a forum where we have an interest that is without gender, should the gender of the recipient be relevant!

Congragulations to the individual, not for their gender, but for what they achieved, and the dedication and skill, from only one of the many who admire all in your field.

The first medal was to Grace Darling who rowed out in a dinghy to rescue the crew of a stranded sailing ship.Somewhere up the North East coast I think.

The area around Porthcawl is riddled with rocks sand bars and large confused seas. I think they deserve medals just for being on the crew.
