Labrador. Boat. Disaster?

Very good, I must watch that! :)
We've had some good times on board with our lab - unfortunately no longer with us (went to a better home about a year ago). One memorable occasion was when we were swamped in our too small dinghy, going out to the swinging mooring in a swell. I had to hang on to a moored boat on the way to bail with my welly, before carrying on! Olly the lab took it all in his stride, looked a bit fed up when the weather was bad, and barked at the sea gulls, but seemed to enjoy it for the most part! Even if we did shame him with a pink polka dot jacket! :D

We are firmly in the conscientious dog owners bracket, hence the question.
We have decided to hold off his first introduction to the boat until the weather is kinder and we are more used to the boat as then we will have the time to be able to worry more about him and less about the new boat.

My thanks for the advice, all grateful received and don’t worry - we nevr go anywhere without poo bags (even if the dog doesn’t come with us).

Site Surfer hope to see some photos of your first cruise with canine crew one day. I wonder if there is a guide to dog friendly marinas and moorings? E.g. Setting out local areas to walk and provisioning within a short distance ? I always thought East Cowes was well equipped with large grass areas and pet shops but maybe others have recommendations for places to sail with canine crew ?
