Konsort Main Sheet

At present the main sheet runs from end of the boom to the transom. I would like to change it forward to the cabin roof, just forward of the hatch. I would appreciate any advice.

To be honest, I wouldn't - and I also have a Konsort. The leverage would be so great, that the only way you would be able to sheet-in is with a winch.

A friend of mine has moved the sheeting on his Fulmar from the stern to the middle of the cockpit. Even there is needs more effort to sheet-in. And it buggers-up a good cockpit with a knee and shin scraper!

Correct and the load on the fittings is tremendous .... you would have to cut into the headlining to place backing pads etc. to carry the loads.

Honest advise is toleave well alone, designers are near enough right most times !

leave well alone,you may bed your boom.whats wrong with it where it is?its out of the way.
