knots for left hander?

Hang on a mo'. Surely everyone ties knots left and right handed all the time depending on which side the line leads onto the fitting from, and consequently which hand it's then natural to form the knot in. I know I do.

Funny this should come up as I'm left handed and I badly hurt my back last year while it was blowing extremely hard and we were on OUR anchor, raftet up to another boat.
4 adults all together and I'm the only one who can tie a rolling hitch, I tried to the rest how to tie one but do you think they could? No no no....
I ended up struggling up to the bow to re-tie our snubber when the wind veered and slowly but surely we dragged, because the others just couldn't get their heads around my left handed teaching:-)

I'm left handed too, and I don't think I tie knots any differently to the right handed person who would have taught me it originally. Being left handed doesn't mean you HAVE to do things differently; I hold cutlery the right-handed way and likewise golf and cricket, but tennis and squash with racquet in the left hand.

Exactly the same. I just tie knots the way I was taught them and my right and left handed students can tie them the way I teach them.

+1; same here.

Knots are knots; does not matter if they face left or right; in matter of fact, my knots varie according to the situation, although i am left handed.

The problem I have found when teaching knots is some people "think" so they cannot tie knots so cannot tie knots...

They have to believe they can tie knots and they must want to learn, then they will learn how to tie knots...

Errm, do you teach people how to whistle, too? ("Just pucker and blow"... :))

Mike.
