Kitecam - cheap aerial footage of your boat !

I posted that link a couple of months ago- it's superb /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I was inspired to investigate how it is done, and for less than a hundred quid you can get a bike/head cam that will do the job, and I intend to have a go this summer.

Ooops...sorry !

Is the camera waterproof? My experience of kites is that they, er, come down. Maybe I'm just not very good?

Plenty of info if you google.

The bikecams are "splash proof", but one review I read of an £80 model said it easily survived a good dunking and was effectively waterproof. (NB the cheaper models need additional memory for useful length of recording)

The cameras are suspended by an ingenious cats cradle so that they always point in the direction they have been set (in line with the kite line obviously).

I have Pentax W30, 6megapixels, very good, it completely releases you from the worry of getting your camera wet, sandy or dusty

But its only good for 10ft depth, so you have to use afloaty keyfob in case you drop it while swimming

Oh and no viewfinder, nice big LCD screen but no use in bright sun
