Your Latest News keeps gubbering up my display, most disconcerting.

It is switching between a two and three line version (eg 'GBR take two medals...' a two liner and 'Honda Cowes....prize' a three liner).

This causes the display to hop up and down in an uncomfortable manner - I am getting seasick and can't get my mouse to click on the right URL !!!

Well spotted, Incognito - this has been troubling me for weeks but I could not work out why!
Hope Kim can sort it.Its a bit like strobelights - o.k. for the young but a bit disconcerting for everyone else!

Thought I'd respond & let you know everything's OK at this end using small fonts - for those who don't know: right-click on your desktop, click 'Properties', select the 'Settings' tab, click the 'Advanced' button, select the 'General' tab - the font size will be shown in the drop-down list box. The above assumes you're using Windows 98.

My browser is IE 5.5 using medium text size (on the 'View' menu select 'Text Size' and the size will be displayed on the pop-out sub-menu.

The Windows setting and browser setting aren't the same, and the Windows setting can overide whatever you've set in your browser.

Hope that helps.

I must put my hands up, as I have a 21" screen, I use slightly larger fonts (Windows desktop advanced setttings) to save scrinching my poor old eyes up!!

(other than that, I am using W2Kpro + IE6.0).

So I guess that causes the banner to wrap, where it doesn't otherwise. By StewartK's response, I am not alone.

I accept that non-standard settings can cause non-standard behaviour, but I do wish I could turn the banner off!!
