killed the water pump

Think I was right the first time ??

Put a hose directly onto the impeller housing. If all is well…..be something lower down the leg such as the grommets or gaskets as above etc…

ok so if I hold the muffs against the leg then water comes up that large right hole visible where the pump housing sits , then I believe it pumps it up the left side hole to the engine , so that little pipe goes to the front housing

so mu assumption is the if it just vents down the leg , why cant I extend it so I can see the water coming out , then ill know its pumping , or am I being thick here

I’m lost now too??

Not sure what the rubber hose is for now. Maybe it diverts so water off to cool the lower leg? Makes sense it comes up through the left hole at the back and to the engine through the on the right.

maybe leave the hose off as if that’s on the pressure side on the sea water pump…you’ll get water out of it under pressure?

Hose nipple ring, that Is the return path for the water after it’s been round the engine to get back out of the leg again
as you indicated ‘why would there be water flowing from here’
cos that is the return path

So can I re direct that to a visible exit. Then I know I have water flow ?

as far as i understand, yes
you'll know for sure if you run the engine and the exit water gets warm
but it will have exhaust gass in it too as in all the other motors i have seen the cooling water and exhaust are mixed when exiting
i would def not redirect the lot, you may have sucess in putting a T in to show you exit water

but as discussed b4 an in line flow detector would be better imo

The hose only has a 3 mm diameter. So doubt it would matter. ?
