Ketch rig adds 50% to the initial rigging bill for the builders, when those builders are counting every cent on construction costs you know there is no way they are going to build ketch. Genoa and mizzen is a nice rig but the standing rigging for the mizzen mast is a pain, adding a lot to the obstructions. Without the mizzen mast we'd have a lovely aft deck to make into an aft steering cockpit. If we hadn't already bought a new mizzen sail a couple of years ago, to be honest I'd be considering removing it.
