Hi
If we have time on our way back from southern parts, we may like to visit London - probably Limehouse.
Any ideas if this is possible from Dover/Ramsgate/Medway marinas in one hop?
Cheers

we done Medway to Limehouse in around 5 hrs from memory () phone Limehouse before departure ;).
stop over in Sharfleet Creek above QueenBro

It is unlikely that a sailing boat will be able to get from Ramsgate or Dover to London comfortably in one tide– the upriver tides run pretty quickly so its best to leave the Medway area at low water. Most people either tie up to a buoy at Queenborough or anchor in Stangate Creek, departing an hour or so before LW Sheerness, earlier if you go into Gillingham or Chatham.

Precisely so.
One slight snag is that at the moment you cannot pass across Grain Spit because of cable-laying which is running long over schedule - from the Medway, bound for the Thames, you have to go NE and round the Montgomery wreck. If you try and break the rules you will get intercepted by the guardship.
Having said all that, the work must surely finish before too much longer.
One thing to add to what's already been said - you can't just turn up at a London marina and expect to get in without booking in advance. That applies all year round but especially so in summer.

Been closed now for about 3 weeks. We've been pottering around within VHF range during that time and constantly hear boats being challenged. If you crossed within that time you must have been switched to stealth mode:rolleyes:
