Hello Out there,

I have a Hallberg P28 long keel sloop of mahogany on Oak built around 1960. All of the keel bolts were replaced in 1991. The boat has been wintered ashore every winter since and has been out of the water completely for around 2 years from Sept 2000 - May 2002. How long should these bolts last ? as I am reluctant to start a job that might not need done.

Oh for goodness sake. Ten years, bronze, lead keel, I presume? If so, I'll bet they're pristine. Mine lasted 40 years.

But, for peace of mind take Mirelle's advice.
