Good man! Nothing like being flexible..:D I wonder if he'll stop briefly at Hamilton? Nice photos RP, it's a personal thing I know but I prefer her as a Gaff Yawl as in the very first photo.

For those of us who are too scared to open Facebook accounts, what was the reason for the change in plans? Seems a bit of a drastic decision change to set sail for the Azores and then decide to alter course for Nova Scotia! Also, is Kate fitted with self steering or autopilot?

Reason for change in plans is not known.
Philip is quite flexible in that respect.
It would not be because of a problem with KATE.

Kate is fitted with wind powered self steering

If you are referring to the 'grey' area on the Starboard stern quarter, that is the aftermath result of an experiment with a bumpkin sprit. It didn't work and was removed.

I didn't see that.I was referring to the light blue square on the bottom near the waterline.

"Have actually gone back 5 miles from yesterdays position total calm"

Ah! well. Get the fishing rod out I reckon. Looking on an Atlantic chart the only wind is North of him, even then it's only showing 5-10 knots.

even 5-10 knots will be welcome. Remember that he does not have an engine.

I anticipate that the 'calm' will last until Friday/Saturday. I'm viewing this site http://passageweather.com

He's a bit far East to get a push Northward from the Gulf Stream too. Passage weather, that's the site I've always used for planning. Friday/Saturday looks promising. :encouragement:
