KAMD 300 Smoking & Poor Fuel Economy

That looks like it might be a tight fit at the front of the engine. Is there sufficient room to change a belt or an impeller?

That does look quite tight.... could be fun trying to change an impeller.

What's the story with the 2 black pipes? (looks like it's coming from a Y connector on the air intake pipe, to the right of the air-box and subsequently goes to the front of the engine under the dust cover) - Never seen those on any other KAD44 / 300.

The two black pipes are were at one point before that picture was taken connected to a
Hot water tank so the engine heated the water. Apparently the tank corroded so they removed it and just connected the two hoses together so the water just flows in a circuit. I have since installed another hot water tank so they're now connected back to that.

Never seen them routed like that, but makes sense.
