KAD44 Actuator Forward & Reverse are the wrong way

??? it is. I thought I hadn’t seen you or the boat in Douglas. Don’t forget my wise words…..”ring it’s neck”

Youll be the only boat on the Isle of Man that can keep up with me!

catch you for a chat sometime ?
Yep, Back in Douglas for 2 months. Then it will go back to Ramsey for some cosmetics over winter. Will pop over over next time your around……

Who did the work on the engines btw?

Engines were looked at by Coastal Rides, they were great actually. Turned it around in 3-4 weeks. Most of the work was sorting our corrosion, new turbos, new heatexchangers, new pipes, new sump, supercharger clutch, did the valves, repaint. I’ve seen mixed reports about the them on here but they have been great for so far.

The engines were lifted out, new transom shields put in and engines fitted back in by local marine engineers.

Sounds good, I would be interested to know the cost.

Cost around £25k I would imagine?

I've seen some of the results from Coastal Rides and not sure I would use them for anything but the odd spare part.

Hi All,

Hoping someone can help. I’ve had my 2 x KAD44 rebuilt recently and now they are back in my boat one side has an issue with the gear select.

Forward and Reverse are basically the wrong way around, even though the wiring into the actuator block are the same on each engine. Mechanically from the actuator to the drive also looks OK. The actuator is moving in the wrong direction………..

We assume its some sort of wiring issue but I would really appreciate any thoughts before the entire summer is out of the window.

Many Thanks
Hi hpw did you solve the problem you mentioned below, please advise me thank you
2 x KAD44 rebuilt recently and now they are back in my boat one side has an issue with the gear select.

I have the KAMD44 and had to recalibrate the throttle/gear control. a very simple process, you can Google it.
Along the lines of press the neutral button for so long, put the lever from neutral to full forward and hold the button again .........
Very simple to do.
I would double check the wires and connections onto the gearbox, the feed to the gear change.

Both motors have 4 wires going to the actuator in the gearbox, but the sockets are broken. I don't know which color wire should connect to which color . I need to find an example photo or detailed information about this issue. Please ,I need your help. Thank you.

Kind Regards
