KAD 44 allu inserts

Forget head sizes, look at the bolt itself and go the next size up. However before you do so check to see how much thread is left and if a partial drill out leaves enough thread to complete the task if a longer bolt was used, or for that matter a helicoil would be a better approach to tapping in a new thread if the new bolt head is likely to foul anything or if the application is going to be torque sensitive
 
Helicoil the affected parts - much better. You can get helicoil kits on Ebay cheap.
If you are doing a blind hole into a casting, drill to the desired helicoil size (in the kit) then tap it (in the kit) . Grind a few mm off the tap a bit and do it again etc until you have a full thread all the way down.

If you have never done a helicoil before, practice on a bit of scrap
