I was unable to stop the engine by turning the ignition key to the left, after many attempts it worked, I looked for but could not see a solenoid,
Seems to be ok again now....
Any ideas? AND is there a way I can stop the engine in an emergency should the key fail again? I tried turning the fuel off bet it kept running for ages....

There is a stop lever on side of pump .

One of our boat club members had this problem on a KAD 32 in Sealine 33 . Simply remedy was to open the engine hatch, climb down into the engine bay and pull the engine stop lever fully back until engine stops
Best to locate it now , so easy to locate if it happens again.
The owner did hopefully cure the problem, think a PCB was replaced after some other niggly faults surfaced, engine went into limp mode and refused to rev over 1700 RPM.
Engineer was summoned and subsequently replaced some electronics .

There is no pc b on a Kad 32, no limp mode as it’s a manual injection engine

H,mm something was done by a Volvo agent , the bill came to over £1500.00 quids and the not turning off problem was sorted , but that might have included lift and a service. ?

Not a kad32 perhaps?
Or if it was a kad32 .......
A not turning off problem on the kad32 can be a supercharger clutch issue which then trips a breaker causing loss of function of the stop solenoid. But certainly not limp mode.

I have fumbled and groped, with a torch, a mirror dislocated my neck, but cannot see any lever... with the header tank and the black box on top of the pump it’s difficult to see, I have even looked for a diagram, no joy yet.... any clues?
