I have a very slight diesel leak on my stbd engine, it is maybe 1-2 drops every minute and results in a little puddle in the area I have highlighted in the photo. Due to the small volume of the leak its hard to see where its coming from. I checked that the return rail was tight and it seemed ok. Where else might the leak be coming from?

Most likely the return rail, notoriously difficult to get leak free, best bet is to replace the copper washers and these small 10mm head bolts can be tightened more than you think as they are not hollow as in the old days, they are solid with a flat each side to let the diesel past.

Have you had the valve clearances set lately? as you have various fuel pipes to disconnect including the spill rail.

I have fitted new rails due to corrosion they leak on the welded joints.

Maybe an injector pipe on the injection pump loose.

Valve clearances done at the start of this season and a new rail fitted, thus my first thoughts were of the rail. Will get hold of some washers and try and replacing them.

Thanks for the advice.

Ryan
