...when looking over the drop where they dump your boat in I thought, yikes OK that's quite a way down...driving back...suddenly thought...erm...how do you get your boat from the drop point to one of the holding berths? I tried to recall if there was a walk way down below...didn't think there was...so.

1) If I'm there I guess I can sit in the boat as they lower it and start it up and go to a berth to load family.

2) If they are getting it ready...how do they get it on a berth for when we arrive? It's now troubling me...

Can anyone elighten me or is there a sea level pontoon I didn't see right next to where the boats are lowered in?? If not, how the devil do they get it ready and on a holding pontoon/berth?

Regards,

T

Perhaps they tow it to a pontoon berth with another little boat.

Thats a really old photo. Google earth shows the whole area packed with boats.

Ballistix - there are jetties - have a look on Google Earth.

Yep agreed. There are more pontoons around but the lift you see there is still basically the same and they drop the boats in from the stack in the middle there with the forklift. It's how they then get it to the pontoons!

I can't see any water level pontoons around that lift area...

You'll ring em up and say I want my boat in the water - I'll be down at.... (whatever time)!! They will tell you where your boat is and what the gate number is. You'll arrive at the boat and all will be well. Don't worry how the boat got there, they will have sorted it all. Most likely they will tug the boat to a suitable berth.

It's a boat! Just enjoy it.

OK thanks Solitaire. I'm a little scared now, I watched two boat builders take 40 minutes to put my boat into the dry stack last night! LOL. I'm going to have a word with them tomorrow when I go down just to say, I don't mind that, but at one point they hit the anchor against the framework, just a little tap, but it could have been worse.

Now when you say they'll tow it to a spot, again, sounds fine, but I was just a little worried of who might be doing it based on the above.

As you say in your sig, it's just a boat, as long as they are honest if they ding it. I'm fine /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

To the best of my knowledge they leave dry berthing vessels in the pen at the end of H pontoon, access is via the south gate.

I have no idea of depths in the pen, but on the odd times I have taken our boat around there to be lifted, it is noticable that the wind does spiral around a fair bit and the tide can rip up through there at springs.

Should be at Universal tomorrow sorting out the boat with the wife and teenage daughter.

On the off chance that there is a break in the shouting, pop over and say hello........
