Just returned from 2 weeks hol'.
Included 3 nights in St Valerey sur Somme.
What a super little place. Very quiet. Good for us old Broom owners. Nice and flat so no chance of heart attacks. Nice selection of restaurants at all prices. Very hospitable "Le Capitain" with all the usual facilities available.
Latest chartlet for the estuary can be found on their website;
www.portstvalery.com (I think). It also contains the co-ordinates of "ATSO" fairway buoy (still shown as N Card in pilot book) and all subsequent channel buoys. Not a difficult entry so long as you follow the numbers.
Made a run for it the day before the gale and spent 2 days in St Kat's with 8 ropes attached! I am sorry to say it, after many enjoyable visits, but despite the very affable Ron (Marina Manager?) St Kat's is showing distinct signs of delapidation, both pontoons and boats, and as for that bloody lock ....
On the return up the non tidal river we spent a beautiful evening at Clivedon, sitting and supping on the rear deck until way after 22.00hrs. (late for Broom owners)
Boat never missed a beat.
