Hi, All,
I have an Eberspacher D4 Airtronic New last year It has the Easystart remote control,
The problem is it takes at least two times to start up when its cold, when it reaches temperature is cools right down to a stop and shuts off, when the temperature drops it tries to start but just smokes.
Only used it for a short time after purchase last year and I seem to remember that it did not come to a complete stop as it does now but just slowed down, I may be mistaken though.

I can vouch for the sensitivity to voltage. The other evening I inexplicably selected engine battery, which is older than the house pair and not charged from solar and after about 40 mins my (recent replacement) D4L went into shut down - engine battery had dropped below 12V

Is the fault new or from installation? Most Eber issues seem to come down to 'enough volts?' at some point.
Hi, Nick,
Just added a little more to the original post.
its a new fault the batteries are good, I do not think it would start at all if they were down, when on full heat it runs like a dream when it reaches temperature thats when it will not restart on automatic.

Mine did the same. After 2 years trying to get to the bottom of it and spending hundreds of pounds, I gave up a d replaced it with a Chinaspacher for £80, which is doing sterling service.

Have you looked at the fault code, the shut down is cooling down due to fault, coukd be anything that stops the burner starting properly, fuel flow, air flow glow plug but as said most often voltage drop during glow plug startup. The current draw is higher at start than most realise And most look at the voltage at the battery not at the heater whilst fault finding. Also bad connections
