Pacific Proas require special rigs, shunting rigs, that move from bow to stern so the vessel can sail back which is actually ahead....... A fascinating vessel that discovered the whole Pacific Ocean. But since has become almost forgotten.................

Meet the LaShunk our LAteen rigged SHUnting juNK on it's maiden voyage, Proa Make O'Break showing off!
Years of experimenting with traditional proa rigs (Crab Claws) taught me that this is not the way to go......

In the VIDEO below, the LaShunK works flawlessly, easy shunting! easy reefing and above all the easiest recovery from backwinding I have ever seen!!! That last bit by the way, just happened by mistake......
