I see in the product review section of the latest edition of PBO there is a feature on a product called Soltron. The chap, Colin, says it tends to be mainly for commercial use, hasd anyone used it privately and how did you find it performed?

Best not to ask me about results as I tend to be biased however, if you want info on it just ask.

I don't know about Soltron, but have used a similar product called Fuel set - don't know whether it works, have never had problems with water in fuel, but I do fill the tank at layup time. When I first got my boat, it did not have a primary filter and when I renewed the fuel filter on the engine, the cartridge was rusty on the top. After fitting a primary filter, I don't get a rusty cartridge - whether it is the primary filter or the fuel set sorting out the water, I don't know. I think it would be a good idea to use this type of product just to be on the safe side. There is a web site soltron.co.uk but it doesn't tell you much.

Re: www.soltron.co.uk/

It is a bad web site isnt it.
Fuel set is good but does not do as good a job or as quick as soltron. Soltron is enzymatic and therefore reacts 50 tims quicker than chemicals.
