Has anybody out there used "connecting links" to join anchor chain together? The rivets that hold them together look pretty small when peened over.

welcome to the forum......can I suggest you try searching this one around 2-3 months ago for threads on this topic; some ran to 30-40 responses and the subject was given a very thorough airing - type c-link into the search area at the top and just press go

Agree, it was comprehensively aired but without a real conclusion. YM agreed to run tests on the various options but Paul Gelder's promotion to editor seems to have delayed things. It's on my "to do" list to re-start these tests.

For me the answer is very simple..

Without a WRITTEN specification of the manufacturer giving the same resistance than the chain.. NEVER use a "C" connecting link..
